As the meetings industry climbs out of this slow economy, planners need to work smarter and more efficiently than ever before. There are many valuable – and FREE - resources available to planners. As an old advertisement used to say, “let your fingers do the walking." Today all you have to do is click away on your keyboard and you will discover answers to many of your corporate or association meeting challenges. Here are a number of websites that I have found to be of great interest and assistance and hope you will too:

Perhaps you are looking to expand your library. ASAE currently lists six books relevant to our industry.

Take the time to look at the articles published in the online edition of “Convene” magazine. The August issue highlights the major amendments to the Americans with Disabilities ADA Act.

Paul W. Smith…Chris Ilitch…Matt Cullen…Dick Dauch…Anne Stevens…these are just a few of the local leaders who have been recipients of the Marketing & Sales Executives of Detroit (MSED) Executive Leadership Award.

For the past 17 years, MSED has held a black-tie Gala that promotes success in the sales and marketing profession. This year will be no exception. On Tuesday, October 25^th, the Executive Leadership Award will be bestowed upon Sandra Pierce, President & CEO of Charter One, Michigan and the first-ever MSED Trailblazer Award will be granted to Scott Monty, Global Digital & Multimedia Communications Manager at Ford Motor Company.

MSED will also present Platinum Awards to one individual and one team, nominated by their peers, who had tremendous success in sales and marketing in 2010.
